Thought for Today - October 12, 2023

The question isn’t ‘can you’, but ‘will you’.

The biggest battles we face often aren't against external obstacles, but rather internal ones. We ponder questions like, "Can I do it? Am I capable?" The truth is, capability is often far less of a barrier than we make it out to be. Skills can be learned, knowledge can be acquired, and help can be sought. The real question that looms in the shadows isn't "can you," but "will you?" Will you take that first step, however shaky? Will you put in the effort, the time, the emotional labor to manifest your dreams into reality?

"Will you" is a question of commitment, a measure of your willingness to transcend the inertia of doubt, procrastination, and fear. When you answer this question affirmatively, you unlock an incredible force within you. It's like setting coordinates into your internal GPS; suddenly, all systems are set to help you reach your destination. Your energies align, your focus sharpens, and even setbacks become part of the roadmap, teaching you what detours to avoid or how to navigate better.

When you shift your internal dialogue from "can I" to "will I," you're making a promise to yourself. It's a vow that even when the road gets tough, even when you can't see the entire staircase from the first step, you'll keep going. And there's an unspoken beauty in this commitment. It holds the power to turn dreams into projects, aspirations into plans, and plans into reality. So the next time you're perched on the edge of a decision, a change, or a challenge, let "will you" be the question that guides you. The answer might just reshape your life.
