Leader's Bookshelf: The PATH Made Clear by Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is an icon not just in the United States, but worldwide. Her own path has taken her on an inward journey that has allowed her to work with many of the most profound teachers of our time. This book distills many of those conversations to those famous ‘aha moments’. Each of the chapters focuses on a particular perspective of self-discovery that is universal and provides insights and wisdom relevant to that perspective.

If you’re looking for a step-by-step path to finding your own purpose, this isn’t it. I’m not sure that any book can provide that type of guidance. What it does do is share the thoughts and experiences of many respected individuals – each of which adds its own little spark of wisdom.

I don’t often recommend a particular medium, but in this case, I found the audiobook to be a better experience than the physical book. The content is the same, but you are able to hear the actual conversations in the audio versions, not just read the transcript. This adds a depth that I really enjoyed. I did find myself stopping the audio many times during a particularly powerful moment to take time to let it sink in. That was the joy in this book for me – the moments of clarity and inspiration it provides through the dialogs.

I suspect this will be one of those books that I listen to often as I continue on my own path. If you’re looking for inspiration, this book is bursting with it and I would highly recommend it.
